Working remotely, online, is everyday life to some and a dream to others. In today’s digital environment all kinds of internet-based jobs are becoming more and more common, and sometimes coveted. So many people would rather work in the peace of their own homes, instead of busy and noisy offices.
Many people become entrepreneurs when they cannot find the remote job that would work for them. It can be a good solution to people who are able to put up with a certain level of uncertainty. Many people also dream of becoming online entrepreneurs, so they can take control of their life and work from anywhere.
The problems with online entrepreneurship, however, are the same as with any other type of entrepreneurship. You are going to need a service or product that you can do better or cheaper than others. Simply wanting to work online is not going to be enough.

Even if you have a service or product that can make it in the online markets, you are still going to need customers or clients. One of the best, most profitable, and most scalable business models is having an online store (with products that are in demand). If the target audience consists of individual customers, you may do well promoting you business in social media.
However, if you are offering coaching, consulting, or other services or products that are aimed at businesses, social media may be not only ineffective but worse, a waste of time. As an entrepreneur, time is often your most valuable asset, and hanging out o Facebook or Instagram hoping to get clients may be the worst thing you can do for your business.
If you are offering a service targeted at businesses or entrepreneurs, you should contact businesses and entrepreneurs who might be interested in your service. You can and should still have a website and you can be active on social media, if you wish.
In B2B, the it is likely that the most profitable business opportunities are with people who are too busy to look at your Facebook or Instagram. Those are the clients you should be going after, if you want to make your business flourish. You should find our who they are and figure out a way to speak to them directly.
